Tom's Fishing Report - March 26, 2009
The lake is up about 1 foot.

Water temp is 57 to 65 degrees.

Most creeks are murky and are cool from the recent rain. Fishing has been good but the weather has not. We have one more day of stormy weather then sunshine. It will be cold in the mornings and warm in the afternoons for a few days.

Look for the best bite to happen late in the day for the next week. It is all about water temp now. Sinkos, flukes and lizards are producing best for me. We have been catching lots of buck bass and a few nice females off beds. Its been too cloudy and windy to bed fish much. Lots of fish are staged - waiting to come in as soon as we get stable weather. April is going to be GREAT this year. I think about 20 percent of the bass have spawned now that means the rest will happen in April and May.

Don't miss out! I still have openings. Give me a call at 903 383-3059 or 972 974-6552.

Good Fishing Tom Evans

Tom's Fishing Report - March 11, 2009
The weather is too bad to Fish today, but man are they biting!

The water temp is up to 68+ in some areas and lots of Fish are Bedding. This cold front will slow that some, but the Fish recover quickly. Good numbers have been happening all week - 30+ Per Day.

The Lake is down about a foot and the stumps are just right to make it hard to maneuver - even with the Trolling Motor. So be careful! I have already seen lots of torn up equipment this year. Check all your safety equipment before the Game Wardens. (They've been doing Boat Checks at some of the Launches. We were checked Sunday evening. Glad to see them doing this again.)

Many upper slot fish, but we haven't been able to Boat the big girls. My clients have lost some giants this week, all to stumps. Damn those stumps!
